Halimeda gracilis
This Halimeda a beautiful calcareous macroalgae found in Indonesia. Unlike most macros, Halimeda builds its structure with calcium, making it more like a living plant of the reef than a soft algae. It adds unique texture and a natural look to display tanks.  It is often not palatable to fish and inverts making it a good choice for adding to reef tanks with herbivorous species.

Care Guide:

  • Light: Moderate to high

  • Flow: Gentle to medium

  • Placement: Rockwork or substrate in display or macroalgae tanks

  • Experience Level: Intermediate (requires stable water parameters)

  • Growth Rate: Moderate

  • Special Requirement: Requires adequate calcium for growth and structure

  • Benefits: Adds natural reef look, calcareous structure, hardy once established  not invasive

  • Portion Size: approximately 3–4"
