Ulva (Sea Lettuce)
Sea Lettuce (Ulva sp.) is a bright green, leafy macroalgae that’s as versatile as it is hardy. Its thin, sheet-like fronds make it an excellent nutrient exporter and a natural grazer food for tangs, angelfish, and other herbivores. Easy to grow and fast to establish, it’s a staple macroalgae for both refugiums and display tanks. Ulva can also be harvested and used as a fresh or dried supplemental food for fish and invertebrates.

Care Guide:

  • Light: Moderate to high

  • Flow: Gentle to strong (keeps fronds tumbling and healthy)

  • Placement: Free-floating in refugium or secured in display tank

  • Experience Level: Beginner-friendly

  • Growth Rate: Very fast

  • Benefits: Powerful nutrient export, grazer food (fresh or dried), hardy and adaptable

  • Portion Size: About 3 oz, or golf ball–sized clump per order
