Red Leaf Fish
Red Leaf Fish (Taenianotus triacanthus)
A beautifully odd scorpionfish relative that perfectly mimics swaying macroalgae. These slow-moving predators gently sway with the flow and make an incredible display animal for macroalgae and peaceful predator tanks. Their beautiful red/pink coloration looks like a sunset in your aquarium.
Current Diet: Live ghost shrimp and small feeder fish
Feeding Frequency: Every 3–5 days
Temperament: Peaceful predator
Difficulty Level: Moderate
Tank Size: 10+ gallons depending on setup
Compatibility: Best with calm tankmates that will not outcompete them for food
The Macro Lady’s Tips:
• Slow eater and shy feeder, can often be trained onto frozen foods with patience
• Provide macroalgae and resting areas
• Do not house with aggressive or fast-feeding fish
⚠️ Venom Warning
This species has venomous dorsal spines. Always know where your fish is when working in the tank and avoid direct contact. The Macro Lady is not responsible for any injury incurred by venomous fish.
