Pictus Frogfish (Antennarius pictus)

✨ This Pictus Frogfish - affectionately named “Morpheus” - has been fully quarantined for a minimum of 14 days and trained to eat frozen food! He readily accepts frozen Silversides every 3–5 days and will also take live saltwater mollies or saltwater grass shrimp when offered. No need to rely solely on live feeding - Morpheus is healthy, eating well, and ready for his next home.

The Pictus Frogfish is an extraordinary ambush predator known for its camouflage, personality, and stunning ability to change color. Over just three days, Morpheus transformed from a soft salmon pink (last photo) to a deep, dark purple, blending beautifully into his surroundings. Like all frogfish, he’s a master of disguise, adapting both color and texture to match his environment.

• Diet: Eating frozen Silversides, also accepts live saltwater mollies and saltwater grass shrimp

• Quarantine: Held for a minimum of 14 days before shipping to ensure health and feeding consistency

• Size: Approx. 2.5 inches

• Tank Size: Suitable for 5 gallons or less while small; move to 10+ gallons as it grows

• Habitat: Provide plenty of rockwork and/or macroalgae for hiding and perching

• Temperament: Predatory; keep singly or with other frogfish of similar size and type only if ample hiding space is provided
